About Me
I’m Shalynn Cavanagh, a 2014 graduate of the University of Alberta’s Bachelor of Education program. Since then, I have been working as an educator in some capacity, whether it be a classroom teacher or a one-on-one instructor. I’m passionate about educational strategies, curriculum development, and student engagement.

Alongside this, I also love to read and write. In my undergraduate degree, my minor was Language and Literacy, and as I became involved in classroom teaching I realized just how important engagement in literature is for students.
With this realization, I began pursuing my Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies through Athabasca University. The MAIS program allows me to chase my two passions of education and literature, and delve deeply into the theory and reasoning behind why I believe student engagement and interaction with written work throughout history to be so important.
