Upcoming Goals for The End of 2019

Hello again! I suppose that 2019 is technically on its way out, but I'd say it's never too late to aim for something. I have a few goals in mind (not the least of which are about this blog!) that I'm hoping I can get a good start on in the next few months of 2019. They range from the deep-and-serious (like starting this website and focusing on my writing) to the silly-but-important (do you think I could actually FINISH a videogame?) and I'm hopeful that maybe some of them resonate with you. Let me know -- what are your goals for the rest of 2019?

  1. Finish that pesky third book of The Ravening Trilogy. I started writing this trilogy when I was 18, and I'm two books deep, and I just have to find the inspiration to finish the last one. This is a BIG GOAL for me, and I know I'll feel so great when it's done. I'd also like to free myself up for a few more passion projects - including this website!

  2. Read 5 more books this year. I love to read, but I often end up reading short stories or poems, or light fiction; of course I enjoy all of those things, but this year I have been trying to get back into some heavy hitting fantasy and dramatic fiction full length novels and series. I wanted to read 20 of these type of books this year, and so far I'm 15 in! (I am very guilty of reading a few 'fluffier' books in between!)

  3. Finish a video game. This sounds ridiculous, I know, but I have never finished a video game. I've been playing The Sims for at least 6 years because I just like that it never ends, but it's time. I'm sitting on a treasure trove of quality games, and it's time I tried to commit and finish one! Let me know if you have any recommendations for me, currently I'm trying to play Baldur's Gate for the 18th millionth time, because I like RPG adventure story-based games, and absolutely nothing scary haha!

  4. Cook an entire turkey dinner for Thanksgiving. I feel good about achieving this one, so it's an "easy goal", but I've never done it before, and Thanksgiving is my favourite holiday of them all.

  5. Really get a sense of my home-style. I like to decorate, and I like furniture, and I have alright taste (I think?) but I've lived in my house for a year and making it homey has kind of fallen by the wayside! I'm not an interior decorator by any means (except in The Sims, as I mentioned above!) but I'd like it if I could hang a bit more art that I liked, and maybe had some furniture that matched a bit more. I have a few roomies, so currently our furniture is just a collective of anything we inherited... functional, but definitely no fashionable!

Those are the big five... I'm sure I have about a thousand more floating in my head, but somebody once told me about creating achievable goals, so here's where we're at! I suppose all that is left to do know is pour myself a coffee, and begin. Maybe in January I'll be able to make some new goals for New Years, and celebrate finishing these off!

Till then, drop a line with your best book recommendations, video game recommendations, turkey dinner recipes, home blogs, or anything else that you'd like to share!
